Yoke Mount for Garmin 696

Postby Chris Potalivo » Sat Apr 19, 2014 3:31 pm

It appears the column on a Comanche yoke has a larger diameter than some of the yoke mount clamps. I ordered one from Ram and it will not open wide enough. I searched the group and did not see an obvious choice. Does some one have a recommended model that I purchase?
Thank you!

Hi Chris,

Yes... you want the RAM Beech Yolk Mount. Specifically you want "RAM Mounts V Shape Base with 1in Ball for Rails and Yokes RAM-B-108B". Here is a link to it on Amazon... http://www.amazon.com/Mounts-Shape-Rail ... RAM-B-108B

Like our Comanches, Beechcraft have larger diameter yolk columns and this was RAM's solution. Based on the specs I expect this to work. I ordered this so that I could mount my iPad mini on my PA-30 yolk. In truth it is still in the office at the hangar not yet installed in the plane as I'm in the middle of some major maintenance right now but I expect to have in installed on the yolk in the coming weeks.

Good Luck,

- Charles
