Static System Query
While putting in a Ron & John panel of the right side I ran into something that puzzled me. My 180 (s/n 3628) has on the right side of the radio stack a vertically mounted U shaped tube with one end crimped and the other attached via hose to the static pressure lines going to the altimeter and vertical speed. Is this some sort of dampening device to reduce pressure/vacuum pulses like used in home water pipes?
The top of the picture is firewall forward and the radio stack is on the left side of the tube. (turn your monitor clockwise. )
Thanks,
Pat D
