Does the G500 system require the attitude or TC?
Yes. It needs input from an HSI. The least expensive is to add one or two Garmin G5 which give you the attitude control that the autopilot needs.
I haven't installed one, but I'm told that two G5 are required.
We're waiting for shop time with Ron Opfergelt at BluSky Avionics KBFL to install our G500. Parts are in. Dual G5s driven by a GTN750Xi with a GTX345R (ADS-B in/out) for traffic are already installed.
Ron's done a bunch of G500 installs, including one in our F33A. Beautiful work on both sides of the panel. Will post pictures and provide a report when the Comanche done.
