I am upgrading my panel and have a Garmin gtx-327 mode C transponder and a 430W. It looks to me that if I just add a GDL-88 I will have ADS-B in/out on the lower frequency. Wondering if I am correct and anyone has this setup.

Yes it is not a problem to do the GDL-88/GTX-327. I have done many without any issues.

    Hi John,
I have a question regarding the air/ground Determination. Have you connected the GDL-88 to the Comanche squat switch? If you have would you advise me on how you wired the connection.

    Thanks,
    Harry

Absolutely no need to do this. Garmin has software algorithms that determine whether you are in the air or on the ground.
