Zach - You were right!

I was cautioned about extra maintenance required for the turbo charged versions of the PA-30. In particular, the scavenge pump for the non-factory version of the turbo was described by Zach as a plumbers bad dream, or something like that. Well, he was right.

So far the most difficult issue has been a leaking scavenge pump. A quick call to WEBCO revealed no support for this particular part. The seal in question is of an older style held in place by a clip. Much searching through the seal supply places revealed no source for the seal. In the end, an "owner produced" part that was of the correct dimensions was fabricated and seems to be working fine.

I guess is part of the joy of maintaining and flying an aircraft that is almost old enough to be described as antique. :)

Did you contact Robert Spillman at Rajay Parts? He is located at Spruce Creek Airpark (7FL6) near Daytona Beach FL.

I've had good luck getting parts from Mr. Spillman. He has PMA authority and all the RayJay records, so if he doesn't have it, he can make it.

Best regards,

Jay
