I have a 250 with a three blade McCauley prop. How is this indexed to the engine? Thanks Nick

Nick, easier if you include a phone number.

Your question is about indexing, not about how to secure the prop / torque etc. So let's just talk indexing.

There is no "secret sauce" on this. The prop is affixed in whatever position in which it was last balanced. You usually use a magic marker to put a line on it for positioning, but if you missed that then install the prop and fly. If you get vibration then you will need to get a prop balance.

We are happy to respond, but I always suggest to owners that they contact a propeller servicer. The McCauley prop cannot be serviced in the field. fo example, since it uses oil for lubrication in a sealed system, unlike Hartzell which uses grease that is replenished every 100 hours.

I hope that this answers your question.

Thanks for the response. I've just had the prop resealed.
