Hi everyone. I'm having a problem (I think) with higher-than-normal oil temps on my '64 Comanche 400 (IO-720). I have ruled out the oil temp thermocouple and the gauge and now suspect the oil cooler bypass valve.
Only problem is that I can't seem to locate it on the IO-720.
I've gone through the manuals and what they show does not look anything like the rear of my engine. I'm not sure if this one has the original pressure valve or the upgraded thermostatic valve.
Anyone have any suggestion on where to look and/or diagnose?
Thanks,
Joel
