One engine often dies soon after landing only when its warm. Fuel pressure fluctuates then decays. Catching it with the electric pump makes fuel pressure rock solid again. Seems its a vapour issue but why one engine. Engines appear to be set up properly. On other forums I have seen recommendation to change to a stronger spring in the divider also to insulate the lines although some say this works others say it doesn’t. Is there any reason why the right (problem) engine layout differs from the left.

    Hello Jim,

According to the POH for a PA-30 1963-1969 the throttles have a shutdown feature if the mixtures fail to shutdown the engines when hot. The throttle stop preventing an uncommanded shutdown may be warn and you are pulling the throttle into the shutdown position. Reference page 2-10, paragraph F.) in the Limitations section.

I had a progressive failure of the engine driven fuel pump, this issue manifested itself in symptoms similar to your experience.

    Hope this helps,

    Bob

I would second Bob’s comment. Have a look at the engine driven fuel pump. Especially since it is one side only and the electric boost pump fixes it.
