Have you tried McFarlane? All of my controls have come from there. I like them and they are approved so no 337.

Depends if you have injected powerplant or carburetor model. Mcfarlane option works for 0540 but unfortunately not for injection.

Barry's comment is well taken. If you have an injected model one approach is an owner produced part. McFarlane will custom build a control for you to your specification (ie length). You may wish to discuss this with your IA.

I have a few reservations about putting in a cable as old or older than the plane. But, that 's better than waiting a number of months for the FSDO. I'm told that I can't use a manufactured part under the aging aircraft statute, but I'm not sure why. That came from Cliff at Heritage Aero and he hasn't steered my wrong yet. If I can't get a used part I may well have Macfarlane make one, but that will still take the 337 form.
