Lord Engine Shock Mounts: Top and Lower ?
I bought 4 engine mounts J7402-5 for a PA24-180 SIngle Comanche. The Piper PA24 Service Manual indicates: Top shocks: gold colored shock is aft and silver shock is forward. Lower shock are installed opposite.
My problem is: ALL LORD SHOCKS ARE GOLD COLORED, NO ONE IS SILVER. Is there anybody to explain how could I recognize Gold Shock of the Silver in order to mount properly top and lower?
Thanks for your attention

In simple terms, forget about it. It doesn't matter. I had the same concerns a year ago when I changed mine. Apparently they no longer color code the mounts, and the folks at Lord that I talked to told me not to be concerned. I'll take their word for it. I've not had any problems since I installed the new mounts.

Re: Lord Engine Shock Mounts: Top and Lower ?
I had a nearly identical question that I posted on 12 March 2012 under powerplant. I read the same thing as you and was confused because the lord mounts for my 180 were all the same gold color.
Zach answered my question as follows, "The color code is for the 250 only. The 180 doesnt have a "soft side"!"
Hope this helps.
