Large rpm drop when applying card heat..

    With engine running and 1500rpm there is a large rpm drop (300-400rpm) ..Removed the scat hose between the heater shruod and the air intake .. the same rpm drop was noticed when carb heat re-applied..I assumed with no hot air from the heater there would be no noticable rpm drop.

    Now that is interesting. The rpm should change a bit but a large reduction in rpm at high idle with the carb heat applied and NOT routed through the heater is interesting. Might be that it was still pretty hot in the engine cowling so it was still drawing in higher temperature air?

My previous post did not include the aircraft is a PA260 engine is a 540E
