engine baffles
While in the engine overhaul process I am considering buying new engine baffles from Airforms inc in Alaska. Has anyone had experience with these replacement baffles??

Re: engine baffles
Just had right engine over hauled and decided to replace baffles on both right and left engines with new airforms. I did the non HO engine, engine shop did the OH engine. Installation was very simple no cutting needed. First time for me so took about 6 hours to complete . Recommend power coat option, well worth it. I would not worry about taking on the project and air form product is excellent. You will need some extra silicone for air intakes, at least on a twin. Be sure to get it with fiberglass embedded, it will resist tearing.

Do you have the wide deck or narrow deck engines?? Anyway thanks for the reply. I had just about decided to just use the old ones. Your experience is very helpful.

Re: engine baffles
They are a good company. There are other options, so I'm not sure how they compare cost wise.
I've always made my own...but if you're paying someone to do that, or your time is valuable the kit may be the way to go. I usually just get a roll of the good stuff from RAM and go from there with a custom fit.

A Twin Comanche at our airport has just installed new baffles from Alaska and they are outstanding quality.
Based on what I have seen I recommend them.
