#6 Cylinder Base Wrench
I am in the middle of a top overhaul on my 1959 PA-24-250 that has an O-540 A1A5. I bought the the 3/8" and 1/2" Lycoming cylinder base wrenches from Aircraft Tool Supply and was able to get all the cylinders off except the #6 cylinder. I am unable to get the top right 1/2" nut off do to the tool conflicting with the motor mount. Does anybody out there know where I can get a wrench that will clear the motor mount to take this nut off?
Thanks,
Alan

Never thought about that problem before. I'll take a look at my 250 tomorrow and ask the shop what they use. I'll get back to you tomorrow if someone doesn't come up with the answer sooner. Ray B

Re: #6 Cylinder Base Wrench
I had this same issue while doing a top overhaul last year on my IO 540 D4A5 narrow deck engine. I had to borrow cyl wrenches from an old time shop. My mechanic found that the wrench required was no longer available from Lycoming. Jeff Gaskill
