Dual exhaust upgrade

Postby Aldo Leonardi » Sat Sep 27, 2014 6:48 pm

Hi all
I'm converting the single exhaust on my 1959 250, to a dual system.
does anyone have a break down of all the parts involved, with the appropriate part numbers?

I would like to get the parts from Kinezly, They're local.
But, they only have the manifolds, no shrouds.

Aldo,

FYI,

Just a thought, I would try to fabricated a shroud rather than buying one. It might be allot cheaper than buying one. I believe it's just a piece of bent aluminum with a weld. Maybe a sheet metal or airframe shop could make you one. Aircraftsman in Chino, CA is a airframe repair shop that comes to mind only because that is the one on my field. They might be able to help you out. FWIW.

Be sure of the legality of the upgrade you are planning before spending ant money. It will require at least a field approval done by an AI and approved by the FSDO.

Hi Aldo, The best dual exhaust is from Aviation performance products(APP), I did it in my 250 is one of the best modification to do. The other way to do is buying 260 exhaust sistem that come without shrouds, and you have to make the shrouds. Is not legally but cheeper, but is very important to find somebody to make a good work with the shrouds. I thought about that and... went to APP easer and safe!!!!!
