If you are doing the work yourself, watch and make sure all the right washers and spacers are in place - otherwise the nose gear housing can get scored. Clifton Aero noticed that problem on my twin and easily fixed it.

I do suspect that Aircraftsman, Inc in Chino, CA is the shop that re-installed it incorrectly.

Anyone else out there know the proper washers and spacers required for both ends of the dampner?
