emergency gear extension

Postby Mike Stockton » Thu Aug 31, 2017 1:15 am

Doing my annual and manually doing a gear drop the gear goes down great but the gear down light does not come on. I found that the switch on the nose gear doesn't quite push in even though it does with normal gear down function. I adjusted it but cannot set the emergency gear extension jack strut unless the light is not on. How do you reset the release mechanism
With the light on
Thanks

Mike,

If I understand you question correctly.

To get the gear motor to run with the gear in the down position after an emergency gear extension, you need to move the emergency gear handle a little bit to get the down gear light indication to go off. Did mine today during annual and it doesn’t need to move a lot. Motor wont run if gear is showing a down and locked indication.

Hope this helps.

Doug
