Stripped door handle

Postby michael pons » Thu Nov 27, 2014 9:15 pm

Any good suggestions in the a replacement for a stripped door handle for the PA-30? I'm wondering which car it came off of?

If yours has the screw that goes into the spline like my PA-30, I used a 65,66,67 mustang handle I found on ebay. Its a new after market re-pop part that I think I paid about 10 bucks for. Looks original and works great.

Funny timing.... I just stripped my door handle as well (long story). In the quest to make a trip over Thanksgiving I borrowed a handle from a generous PA-39 owner who was down for maintenance. I also ordered a new handle from Webco (actually I ordered two of them so I wouldn't be stuck like this again). Phillip at Webco said the handle is from a 1964 & 1/2 Ford Mustang tho I bet as Kristen indicated almost any Mustang handle from that era will suffice.

Interesting that all 3 handles (original, PA-39 borrowed, & Webco) are different styles and weights but all fit the spline and work fine. I've been meaning to make a post on that (and door seals and related topics) and will try to find time later today or this week to do that.
