fuel pump brackets for a 260

Postby Ravi Thakkar » Mon Jan 16, 2017 6:39 pm

I have a 1971 260 that has a Bendix electric fuel pump that needs replacement. It needs to be replaced with a Dukes pump. However, the retrofit needs brackets and clamps that Piper is saying are no longer available. (Piper Part #27223-00 and 27224-00). Does anyone have any ideas on what to do in this situation? or where I can find the brackets and clamps.

A good AME should be able to fabricate what is required to make an electric fuel pump fit properly. Although I should check if this is a fuel injected aircraft?

Talk to Webco. They may have what you need.

Thanks. Webco has a clamp but not the bracket. They said they might be able to make one but will take time.

Contact Aeromotors, LLC. They can probably overhaul your existing pump cheaper than the Dukes replacement / bracket fabrication issue you are facing.

I believe that Matt at Comanche Gear has an owner produced part for this application.
