Fuel Drain

Postby 17031 » Sat Jun 27, 2009 4:08 pm

The device that allows the tanks to be drained does not close properly. After draining the tanks I use a screw driver to push the mechanism to close the drain shut. I have to get out of the plane and check to be sure the fuel has stopped draining.

Has anyboby run into this problem and what has been done to fix it. We tried lubing (ie the WD40 treatment), and it helped but hasn't solved the problem.

Ours is a 61 250
The O ring was worn out causing the leask. Removing the fuel strainer assembly and replacing the O ring solved our problem
