Twin comanche door seal
My '64 Twinco only has 2600 hours on her, the door is the stock setup, there appears to be little wear. It opens, closes and latches well. No issues with partial latching etc. However, it has a very loud hiss. The seal is intact, but looks compressed, shrunken, and some cracking. So, I'm sure it needs to be replaced.
Replacing it seems to be easy enough, however my fear is that the new seal will be larger and create closing problems. I'm reading where people replace them, then have to put on the Cherokee latch to make it close.
Is there a recommended seal for the stock door?

Re: Twin comanche door seal
I had to replace my '66 PA30 door seal a few years ago.
My mechanic had to try a couple of seals, and I am not sure what seal was the final seal that is working great today. But, when it was first applied the door did not want to close. It had to be pushed shut and latched. After sitting, closed and locked, for a day the seal molded to the frame and has worked perfectly and easily since then. No more noise and very easy to close and latch from inside. I do not have the upper Cherokee latch BTW but I do have a very good fitting door!

I do have the Cherokee upper latch, which I know has saved be from a lot of blowing air more than once.
