I have been researching Twinkies and ran across an article discussing a spar reinforcement if there were cracks. My question is this worth doing as a preventative measure?
The AD should always be complied with. A lot will depend on the age of the airframe and how it was used. A low time aircraft with one or two careful owners is going to have a very different expereince than a trainer, for example.
I personally would not do a maintenance activity as intrusive as a spar reinforcement unless there was an inspection that produced a result or an AD requiring it.
