The fork assemblies on the main landing gear are very pitted especially in the area of the chrome. My mechanic, Alberto Rossi, recommends replacing them. He has indicated that they cannot be rebuilt. Alberto is something of a perfectionist (he owns a Miller Twin Comanche) so I trust his recommendations.

The aircraft currently has the dual forks (Part #20790-00). I would like to take this opportunity to switch to the single fork assembly used on some 260’s and the 400. After perusing the Piper parts catalog I believe the part numbers I need, for left and right respectively, are: 24809-00 and 24809-01.

Any ideas as to where I can acquire these?

    Thanks,

    Patrick

I got mine from webco. You’ll also need torque plates. I sent the dual forks to them and they switched out the strut tube for me.
    This was on a 61 250

Thanks for the info! Never thought to ask them.

Those particular parts are not in their catalog either…
