Side Window replacement

Postby Joseph Munoz » Sat Nov 24, 2012 4:51 pm

Anyone here ever replaced the side windows? It doesnt seem too hard as the window trim unscrews. I was just concerned at the top of the windows where it tucks up against the headliner. Does the headliner need to be removed or partially removed? Easy or diificult job? Any info would be great.

Hi Joe,

As long as you are flexible(ie able to spend long periods hunched over in a cramped space), not a difficult job. Headliner does not need to be removed although the edges might have to come up depending on how the prior install was done. If you are going to the thicker plastic (1/4"), which I'd recommend, you will need to bend/move the retainer tabs that are hidden under the trim rings. If you just remove one of the trim rings it will be obvious what needs to be done.

Good luck, Don
