Robertson STOL - positive flap retraction

Postby Timothy Urban » Thu Nov 30, 2017 5:12 pm

The Robertson STOL system for PA-30s is limited to 15 degrees flaps unless a subsequent positive flap retraction system was installed. Am looking for the Robertson Service Bulletin #19, and advice as to how you can look at the plane and tell if the positive flap system is installed in your plane (other than absence of a placard on your flap switch).

Thx in advance for any PDFs, photos, etc.

Tim

FYI for the next guy searching this topic, the Robertson service letter #19 is available through Lancair in Uvalde, TX. More positive flap retraction system kits may be built sometime in 2018 but no new ones are available at this time.

Hey guys, on the Robertson STOL topic. Would anyone here happen to have the flight manual supplement available, recently purchased PA-30 seems to be missing it. I've contacted the current STC holder with no help as of yet, thanks

Hello, message for Timothy Urban…I have a 260B with the Robertson kit.  I would really appreciate a copy of the Robertson AFMS, Robertson Service manual, and Robertson SB 19.  The forum won’t allow me to send email directly.

Many thanks to anyone who could help

@n33zm If you could send me the same docs that would be fantastic! I've got N8207Y, serial 1333 - she's a 1966 B model, factory turbo, with the Robertson STOL.  I'm also really curious to know if anyone has successfully installed deice boots on the Robertson-equipped models.  Email is (andrew <at> rossacres.com)

Thanks!

@andrew6981 Went down that rabbit hole and the deice boots were never approved for the STOL equipped models.  I have a 65' with the R/STOL kit and was interested in the same.  No path to de-ice/anti-ice with the Robertson STOL.
