PA-39 Mod list; go wild
I am new to this forum and the TC. I have an agreement in place and am starting a prebuy soon. I hope to have the TC in my hands by end of June. I currently have a Maule MT7-235, which i will probably keep. Getting the TC to go faster, carry more, over water, etc. The plane i am getting seems to have all the AD and Service Bulletins. I am amazed at the amount of mods that are available. My question to this group is what are the mods i should consider, in what order and what is the approximate cost. Spend my money but give me a good reason to have the mod

Paul,
Welcome to almost Twin ownership. I have at least 31 mods on my Twin. Which mods are most important depends upon what are your goals and priorities. Some may already be on the projected new bird. Be sure your pre-buy is done by a very Comanche knowledgeable person or all your fun money will disappear on the 1st annual.
For smart flying: CPPP or CPTP education courses, Taylor DVDs, daily reading of Forums to learn about your new aircraft.
For reliability in starting. copper cables, Concorde battery, Sky-Tec starters, Slick Mags, alternators
For speed you can't beat not stopping for fuel so tip tanks, Phil air Nacelle tanks or Webco nacelle tanks. Depends on what useful load you need - tip tanks are almost free that way.
Very fond of LoPresti wow cowls for cooling, followed by roll-your own flexible McFarlane Teflon Baffles - Kristin Winter's are the best I've seen.
Oh, Knots2U baggage strut.
pricing: need to go to the websites for LoPresti, Knots2U, Webco, CPTP, ICS etc
I'm sure others will chime in - be aware most people are on the maintenance Forum.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response. The plane is in Florida and Bill Turley's name from Aircraft Engineering in Bartow keeps coming up in my search, so he is doing the prebuy.
I do plan on cptp and have an email into them.
Thanks for the start on the Mod list. Maybe you can tell me if you know of a nacelle or nose baggage mod?
Also, I have heard that there is a sounding proofing kit that comes almost fully precut for about $1k? I can't find anything searching this forum or web.
I guess I will move this to the Maintenance Forum

Miller had the STCs for nose and nacelle baggage mods. don't have them so can't tell you the impact. Knots2U bought the Miller stuff, you'll have to call and see what they are doing with them lately.

Have fun... he has added several more, but that should keep you busy for the next few years.

congrats, good luck, great place to be..
I love shoulder harnesses and wouldn't be without.
I installed a JPI 760 w/ FF and it has saved me lots of money.
Electric? I redid the system, went to Plane Power mod...lightweight alternators
Gear? Big item, Matt Kurke's system, the old wires break enough, I upgraded.
