Hello, new member here! I am a student in an aviation class that has been tasked with putting together a broken PA-24-250. I am having trouble figuring out where these two parts are supposed to go on the Commanche. Any help is appreciated, many thanks!
They appear to cover something internally in the aircraft. I quizzed an A&P Comanche 250 owner and he says he dos not have these items on his aircraft, suggesting that they are non-standard.
I suggest that when you take photos like this that you place a ruler in the middle so we have a reference for size.
Initially, I thought that they might be part of the air induction scoop on the nose cowl, but they seem to be small and the notch cutout suggests that something goes through there ..... air ducts, control cables??
The parts are opposites of each other, suggesting that they fasten together. The cutout would be for something to go through, and the overall size suggests that it is a cover. But I've never seen anything similar on a Comanche. There is a slim chance that it is an autopilot part (which means that it is not a Piper part).
I can't tell you more I'm afraid.

Also does it still have the tail number on it?
That’s okay it helps along with the serial number of the aircraft.
After doing some digging and asking and sharing your pic with other Comanche owners I feel that they may belong to another aircraft type.
Sorry that I couldn’t help out any more. Good luck with your project.
