    Hello

I would welcome some advice please. We are based in the UK and our aircraft is in for it’s Annual at present and we have just received the following email from our Maintenance Outfit:

“Unfortunately your MLG brake discs are well below limits, there is a kit that includes two wheel half’s for the new type of discs IAW a SB the kit is 1,435GBP plus VAT and labour of around 3.5 hours.”

Do we have an option to simply replace the current discs rather than going down the above route which appear to be an expensive option? How easy is it source replacement discs?

We are already having to replace the nose wheel due to corrosion.

    The aircraft is a 1959 Comanche 250.

    Many thanks,

    Mike

You may find standard replacement discs for your airplane at WEBCO. I purchased a pair for my 1958 250 about 3 or 4 years ago from them for about $1000.00 US. It was much less expensive than purchasing and installing the kit you mentioned.
