I became the owner of a 1963 PA-30 Ser No.30-173 a while back. When I got the A/C the interior had been removed for a refurbishment and sitting in a pile. I managed to get everything back in except for the backseat center seat belt hook up and where the top of the seatback connects with the sidewall. The center seatbelt holder is a clevis and cable arrangement that is not available from Piper. What I need here is the length of this from the tiedown on the floor to the D ring of the seatbelt. Secondly, if you could send me a couple of pictures of how the top of the seatback is attached to the wall. I think that I have some parts to do this but I am not sure due to the fact that both the parts manual and the service manual do not cover these two items.

thanks in advance for your help.

I am a bit confused – you have a centre seat in the back?

    William:
Sorry, just one back seat. It is the stock bench seat setup. the back-seat seatbelt D rings are connected to the center floor board and the side walls by a clevis, cable, shackle arrangement. what I need is the total length of these connector pieces. Piper no longer has this part in stock and what I have to do is make them. The parts Catalog shows these items on page 1F1 items 32, 33, part No. 20868 and 20869. The other problem is how to connect the top part of the seat back to the cabin wall. I have the items (page 1F1 items 22 and 24) needed but a couple of pictures showing these are hooked up would really help.

    Thanks

    Hello George,

I can’t answer your question as our PA30 is a B model with the separate seats in the back.

The one suggestion I have is to look at a single of the same vintage as I expect they will have the same setup as you have.
