Read your logbooks very carefully. On a Comanche new to me, we thought that we had to do the AD inspection also since numerous A&P’s had been signing it off for years. But when I started pulling the thread there was a log entry not long after the AD was issued that stated that the kit 760 783 was installed which was the terminating action for the AD. Therefore, the A&P doing the inspection this time decided that the AD was no longer applicable and was signing off the AD as no longer requiring the inspection and referencing the original log entry back in about 1976.

We are having to go through every AD list as recurrent to verify the true state of things.
